Editorial Policy

WhiskMetrics exists to give you matcha guidance you can trust and repeat. Here’s how we keep it accurate.

Accuracy & sourcing

Preparation ratios and temperatures are based on guides published by Japanese matcha producers and tea associations, and are cross-checked against our calculators. Caffeine, L-theanine, nutrition, and health figures are checked against primary sources — the FDA, USDA FoodData Central, and peer-reviewed research — and every article lists its sources. Because matcha varies by cultivar, harvest, and grade, we report ranges rather than single “exact” numbers, and we avoid health claims the evidence doesn’t support.

Freshness & updates

When producer guidance or research changes, we revisit the affected guides, update the content, and stamp a new review date so you always see current guidance.

Corrections

If you find an error, email [email protected] with the page and the source you are relying on. We review every report. When a fact, number or calculator default is wrong, we correct the page and update its review date. Typo and formatting fixes are not dated.

Independence

WhiskMetrics currently has no affiliate links, sponsors, or paid placements, and no brand has paid for or reviewed any article. Brands named in our guides (such as Ippodo, Encha and Jade Leaf) are cited for their published recipes and list prices only. If we add affiliate links or ads, we will label them on the page where they appear and update this policy first.
